One evening in 2015[?], I started going to a certain 24-hour Starbucks and started working on filling a sketchbook with a painting per sheet. each night I visited will result in an original composition that has some meaning to it, and should be signed and complete before I pack up and head home, unless life got in the way.
Bad Poetry is the extended project of me testing and driving myself to become a better painter/draftsman in inkwork and watercolor through concept art and exploring the matter of an artist’s intention relative to the work.
Because these paintings are just for me, and mostly for practice and challenge, I can’t call most of them ‘Art,’ as they are devoid of a message or intention that should reach anyone else, thus they are ‘Artwork,’ rather than ‘Art’
This book was the springboard for many of the ideas and techniques that I continue to develop even now - several years later - and as this is at least partially an expression of emotional states and feelings, I should hope that you find it entertaining.
Thank you for being here,
